💸 What’s Your Monthly Budget? (Share Real Numbers)

One of the most common questions expats ask is: “How much do I really need to live in the Philippines?”

The answer is — it depends! That’s why we created this thread for members to share their real-world monthly budgets. Whether you’re living on $500 or $5,000 a month, your experience helps others plan realistically.
👉 What to Share (if you’re comfortable)

💵 Your average monthly budget (USD or PHP)

🏠 Rent cost (and what kind of place you live in)

    🍗 Food/grocery budget

    ⚡ Utilities & internet

    🛵 Transportation or car costs

🎉 Any extras (travel, fun, etc.)

🧠 Anything you’ve learned about saving or overspending

    Example Reply:

I’m in Dumaguete and spend about $1,100/month.
Rent: ₱18,000 for a small house
    Food: ₱12,000 (eat out 2–3x a week)
    Utilities/Internet: ₱4,000
    Transport: ₱3,000 (motorbike and gas)
Extras: ₱5,000 for dates, weekend trips, etc.

Be as detailed or general as you want. This thread is here to help others make informed decisions — and you might pick up tips too!

Let’s keep it respectful, honest, and helpful.
